Before you start out with your plans for massive financial wealth with an Internet Business, here are a few things you should know. Are you sure you haven't forgotten what an Internet Business really is? It might not be your fault, it may be the media and all the hype that surrounds the internet that is to blame. But when we talk in terms of Online Businesses we all seem to focus on money.

Admittedly, we have become a very high demand society where celebrity lifestyles are in our faces everyday in the news, magazines and TV shows. We are constantly being shown desperate reality TV stars making fools of themselves in a hope to achieve some sort of celebrity status and have a taste of the money and lifestyle that goes with it. However, it is easy to get swept away and dive into the dream of building a business online while forgetting one fundamental thing. A product. You wouldn't consider opening a shoe shop without any shoes, you wouldn't last very long. Or a bakery that sold stale loafs. Remember, not only do you have to have a product, it needs to be a quality product that people want to buy.

There are plenty of enticing adverts out there promising to let you in on the secret of a six figure income for a few minutes or hours work a day. Come on, be realistic. Do you really think that by sitting in front of your laptop and punching a few buttons a day is going to lead to "bye bye debt. Hello Aston Martin!"?

The marketers on the internet have learnt how to play to your emotions and desire to find instant, easy access to wealth on the web. They know there is a huge percentage of people surfing the net looking for that home based opportunity to make them the six figure income that appears so easy when you work online. The money business is one of the biggest markets online.

But how long can you keep selling the dream of easy money online. Remember, you're in this business to make money, not just to sell the dream of it. Any successful business is built on the foundations of having either a quality product or service to market and sell. There are some good opportunities out there and there are some bad ones. It's not to say the bad ones are scams, just that they are maybe oversold to you, and more often than not, you will give up trying after a few weeks when the promised riches don't come rolling in.

Well, let's be clear when you throw around the word scam. A scam is where people deliberately fool you into handing over money with the intent to fraud you. But there are many perfectly legitimate businesses that just don't come up to the mark as a genuine way to build a long term, quality business.
